Ongoing Assessment
Ongoing assessment provides data that is utilized to make individualized
instructional decisions
• Teacher teams meet regularly to analyze student performance and make instructional decisions.
• Daily performance guides instruction for the next day.
• Pre- and post-tests are used to determine student’s needs.
• Teachers utilize digital progress reports embedded in learning programs such as Achieve 3000, MAPS, Odyssey, and
Raz-Kids to plan instruction for students.
• Teacher created formative/summative assessments as well as curriculum assessments (Words Their Way, Fountas and Pinnell leveling, Stephanie Harvey Comprehension, Math Unit Assessment) are used.
• Pupils self assess.
• Assessments are ongoing with frequent parent communication.
• Student artifacts and classroom observation are utilized.
• Student records show growth on the math and reading continuum.
