Today we introduced a new learning platform the focuses on Math. Students may access Dreambox at home at the following web address.

Team Excellence West is asking that each student successfully completes at least three articles each week and Team Excellence East is asking students to successfully complete at least 3 articles per week. This week the students had the opportunity to talk about our city government with Captain Naverette! He is a former Walker Student as well as having three children go through Walker! He discussed government at the local level and the steps need to become a police officer! We ended the presentation with a demonstration by the Canine Unit

In an effort to celebrate each child's birthday without the hassle of supplying treats for 60 students, we will hold monthly birthday celebrations. During the month of your child's birthday, your child can bring 30 treats to be shared. Listed below are the dates we will celebrate each month. September 19th October 17th November 21st December 20th (Friday) January 16th February 20th March 20th April 16th May 22nd June 5th- (Reserved for all students with summer birthdays.) Parent Information Night will be held tomorrow evening. Excellence West will hold two presentation sessions, 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. informing parents of expectations and objectives. We will also be available between and following the presentations. We hope to see all parents in attendance and look forward to sharing our excitement for this school year with you!
With the heat this week, students are allowed to bring water bottles!
Our Parent Information night will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2013 with a P.T.A dinner from 5-6. Specific information will follow! We hope to see all families in attendance!
